Situated by Lohjanjärvi (Lake Lohja), Vivamo was established in 1916 as a place for prayer, Bible teaching and time set aside to be with God.
Today it offers facilities for conferences, courses, seminars, retreats, holiday camps as well as family celebrations. Vivamo is also known as a popular place for confirmation camps for 14-15 year-old youths.
Vivamo is open year round. Visitors are welcome here also just to rest and relax in the beautiful natural surroundings. A small private beach, with separate sauna’s for men and women on opposite sides of the bay, adds to the summer enjoyment. In the winter, skiing or walking on the lake ice may be a unique experience.
The heart of Vivamo is the Church of the Broken Heart. Lutheran Worship services are held there on Sundays at 11 am all year.
Next to the Church there is a Quiet Garden, first of its kind in the Nordic countries.
A small stone chapel built by local volunteers, the St. Bridget’s Chapel, is situated in the rocky peninsula, also known as the Quiet Peninsula. The Chapel was dedicated in 2003.
Vivamo Bible Village is a unique outdoor village theatre offering Biblical plays based on the Old and New Testament. It offers performances during Christmas, Easter and summer. Since its founding in 2004 well over 100 000 people have seen the performances.
A special Children’s Village was opened in 2012 to offer children and families memorable moments in nature, various workshops, in a puppet theater and on a visit to Grandmothers Cottage, among other things.
Vivamo is owned by Kansan Raamattuseura (Logos Ministries of Finland).
Vivamo offers facilities for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and other family celebrations. The church and the stone chapel are available for weddings and christenings.
Our kitchen does all the catering for your celebration. Alcoholic beverages are not served.
Facilities for meetings are available for 10-200 participants. For accommodation there are rooms in varying price ranges. Meals are served in a spacious dining hall.
A tailored program specifically for your group may include the Vivamo story, devotional time, music, nature experience, swimming and sauna bathing by the lake, also winter swimming is possible, a meal or coffee, plus much more.
Lohja and its surroundings offer several interesting places to visit.
Vivamo is situated in Lohja, southern Finland, appr. 60 km. west of Helsinki, by Lohjanjärvi (Lake Lohja), largest lake in the region.
By car from Helsinki or Hyvinkää directions, before reaching Lohja, pass the sign Lohjan keskusta (”Lohja Center”) and head for Hanko (road number 25) and continue for 4 km until you see signs for Sairaala (Hospital) and Virkkala, turn right, and almost immediately right again, towards Lohja. After Citymarket on your left, turn left at the sign Vappula. Appr. 1/2 km later you’ll see the Vivamo sign on your right.
Coming from Lohja center, follow signs for Hanko until the Vappula sign, turn right and 1/2 km later you’ll see the Vivamo sign.
Bus connections from Helsinki to Lohja are frequent. Buses running Helsinki-Lohja-Vappula-Virkkala actually stop at Vivamo. With buses running Helsinki-Lohja-Virkkala, the nearest stop is appr. 1 km from Vivamo, at City Market from where you follow the sign to Vappula. Taxis are available at Lohja bus station. Distance from Lohja center to Vivamo is 4 km.
